Appearance

Each user has their own appearance preferences, stored on their user record:

• Mode — Polished (default; sans-serif, rounded, modern motion) or Terminal (monospace everything, dashed chrome, ASCII map, scanlines).
• Theme — System / Dark / Light (Polished only; Terminal has its own phosphor palette).
• Density — Compact / Comfortable / Roomy.
• Accent — Violet / Blue / Teal / Amber / Rose / Lime.
• Tweaks — dot grid background, filled sparklines.

Settings are user-scoped, so an operator and an SRE share an org but can pick different chrome.

Terminal mode is more than a theme

It’s a parallel render path for every bespoke component (sparklines, world map, live check stream) with monospace-friendly variants. If you turn it on and a chart looks off, that’s the twin component; the polished version is still there for the next render.
